We take our environmental credentials and responsibilities seriously and if you would like to know more about this please read our environment page. These days there are lots of claims of environmental friendly or eco products but there is not a lot of transparency so consumers have an understandably difficult time navigating the whole area of sustainability. We aim to provide that transparency so you know what you are buying. Certified and recycled products are listed below.

Fair trade and Organic Our organic cotton bedding is certified by the Dutch SKAL organisation. We have baskets and ceramics with the SAI SA8000 certification which is an auditable certification standard.

FSC certification Our bedroom ranges in solid ash are FSC chain of custody certified. Look for the tree tick logo on our product detail pages or click below. FSC (Forest Stewardship Council) is an international, non-governmental organisation dedicated to promoting responsible management of the world’s forests. They certify timber and timber products and are supported by NGOs including WWF, Greenpeace and the Woodland Trust. As far as we are concerned the FSC is the ‘gold standard’ in forest certification. Most of our solid wood bedroom ranges are made of FSC certified timber – please look for the ‘tree tick’ logo on our product pages.

PEFC Certification Our extendable oak dining tables are made from 100% French oak with a PEFC chain of custody certification. Look for the PEFC logo on the product detail pages or click below. PEFC is international non-profit, non-governmental organisation dedicated to promoting Sustainable Forest Management (SFM) through independent third-party certification. The main difference between the FSC and PEFC is that the PEFC scheme is regionally managed and therefore the criteria can be different in different locations. The PEFC is the largest forest certification system. Look for the PEFC logo on our product pages.

Reclaimed Walnut Our recycled walnut is reclaimed from old buildings where it was mainly used as structural joists. These rough hewn logs are cut, dried and sanded and recycled into our Caspian and Pacific pieces.

Soil Association Our organic mattresses are made in Wales with the best organic and natural materials including natural latex and organic Welsh wool. They are Soil Association certified
