Delivery

Our goal at Chest of Drawers is to get your order delivered to you in the quickest, safest and most economical way. We deliver all over the UK with two primary delivery methods – by courier or by specialist delivery. Below are descriptions of the different delivery methods for online purchases. Please take the time to consider which option is best for you. For deliveries outside the UK, please contact us for a quote. All delivery charges below are for delivery to a single address.

Timing - all items have approximate availability times - please see the individual product for specifics.

Courier delivery:

Couriers offer the least expensive way to get furniture to your door. However it is important to be clear about the service restrictions that come with it.

• It may take up to 28 days from the time a piece arrives at our warehouse. This is because goods are often brought to you via at least one other warehouse.
• You will be contacted with a suggested date for delivery. You are often not given much notice of this date. You can refuse this date, but this causes a further delay. It is not possible to suggest weekends.
• You often have to wait in all day on the agreed delivery date.
• The furniture is brought to your door only.
• The pieces are not unwrapped or assembled.
• Communication is often difficult with courier companies, particularly when there are last minute changes or problems occur.

 

We are highlighting these points not to deter you from using this method, but to be clear about the reality of the service.

Specialist delivery:

This is our preferred method of delivery.

• You are contacted in advance to suggest a convenient delivery date. Weekends are not always possible, but can be discussed.
• You will be given a delivery “window” so you don’t need to wait in all day.
• Two experienced crew take your furniture directly from our warehouse to you.
• Items are placed in the room of your choice.
• Assemblies are carried out where necessary.
• All packaging is removed.

 

This is undoubtedly the best service, but we recognise it comes at a price. Even the quote you are given is subsidised by us.

 

London within the M25:
Orders with a value over £400 - Free
Orders with a value under £400 - £45

All UK mainland (outside the M25) - from £95, please use our postcode checker when you have items in your basket.

Delivery timescales
Please note that deliveries outside the M25 take up to 28 days IN ADDITION to the approximate availability time estimated on each product.

Accessories (non furniture) standard delivery

Items can be collected from any of our shops or posted to you by Parcel Force 48 hour service.
Post deliveries - accessories and other non furniture items are posted by Parcel Force and normally take 2 days from dispatch. If you are not at home to receive the item a note will be left with a contact number to reschedule. Postal deliveries are calculated at 10% of the total order with a minimum of £5.

Mirrors and fragile items

Fragile items can be collected from any of our shops or we can deliver it to you within the M25. This costs £45 for order values under £400, free delivery if over £400. These items cannot be posted.

Access:

Please note that many of our items, being solid premium woods, are extremely heavy. Although some dismantle for access purposes (usually tables, wardrobes and beds), most do not. This is not flat-packed furniture! Therefore please double check that the piece of furniture you have ordered will fit into the space where you want it.
