These pieces have been waxed with a clear paste wax. This finish is not waterproof and if heat or liquids leave a mark, they must be re-waxed immediately to replace the protection. Re-waxing shouldn’t be needed more than every 6 months or so. Since re-waxing gives a lovely smooth feel and deepens the colour while brightening the grain we find that people tend to do it more often. It can’t hurt, so go right ahead! Marks and superficial scratches can be removed by using very fine wire wool (grade 0000) with a good paste wax. We can supply the same colour wax that your furniture has or you can use a neutral paste wax.
